DOG FRIENDLY RETFORD

Some Great Dog Friendly Spaces and Places Near Little Oak

Pubs:
I started to compile a list of pubs that were dog friendly in Retford. We love dogs but don’t have one at the moment, so we posted on the Retford Facebook page for advice. Basically the answer is ‘ALL of them!’ except the Weatherspoons pub. Most of the local village pubs are too, we’re great dog lovers hereabouts!

Cafes:
Here again the Retford Facebook page told us MOST of them! Here’s a list which I suspect is not definitive!

The Baytree Cafe by the canal, one of my favourites but not open at night. https://m.facebook.com/Bay-Tree-Retford-829292120483822

The Barrister's Book Chamber - https://barristersbookchamber.com/

Harry’s Coffee Shop -https://www.facebook.com/HarrysCoffeeHouseRetford/

Great places to walk with your dog:
Clumber Park has 3800 acres full of beautiful walking paths. You can pick up a free doggie guide from any national trust staff member - full of walks and information. There is a dog friendly cafe called Central Bark... group dog walks are held every Wednesday, dog jogs every Tuesday and there are Sunday Dog Walks on selected Sundays. https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/clumber-park

Whitwell Woods, there is a cafe that do great drinks and snacks including dog treats https://www.forestryengland.uk/whitwell-wood

Blidworth Woods seating and again drinks and snacks https://www.forestryengland.uk/blidworth-woods

Idle Valley nature reserve. https://www.nottinghamshirewildlife.org/nature-reserves/idle-valley

Bevercotes pit wood opposite the entrance to Taymar ice cream, a personal favourite. https://getoutside.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/local/bevercotes-bassetlaw

And of course Sherwood forest!
